REACH BC makes it easier for you to recruit people across BC, including all health authorities and rural areas.
Our matching software pairs eligible volunteers with your study. Once volunteers express interest in your research, you can contact them to confirm their eligibility and provide additional information about the study.
You can post:
Invite volunteers to join your study as participants. This is ideal for clinical trials, surveys, medical device testing, or focus groups where you need to gather data from specific populations. Note that research studies require Research Ethics Board (REB) approval.
Find advisors to join your research team. This is ideal for patient-oriented research, where you need lived experience to help shape study design, review materials, or set research priorities.

Researchers appointed or employed by a health authority or public post-secondary institution (university or college) in British Columbia. Graduate students may also be eligible, if they have a principal investigator who meets the researcher criteria above.
If you are not affiliated with a recognized BC health or academic institution, or are based outside the province, you may still be eligible to recruit through REACH BC.

Impact and success stories
REACH BC played a key role in recruiting participants for early-phase clinical trials at the Providence Health Care’s new Phase 1 Clinical Trials Unit.
Through awareness-building and trial promotion, we helped meet study recruitment goals and connect people with opportunities to participate in local trials for new therapeutics.
REACH BC partnered with Genome BC’s Health Metadata Commons to link research results across two provincial platforms.
This new feature allows researchers to share their research results across both platforms, making it easier for researchers and knowledge users to discover related studies and access additional research data.
REACH BC supported the recruitment of healthy and diabetic volunteers for the Montbretin A safety study. Hear from the clinical research unit team:

For researchers
Add your study to REACH BC
Submit a posting for your opportunity. We’ll find relevant matches and make it easy for people to find your study on our study directory.
See your volunteer matches
We’ll find volunteers who match your eligibility criteria and notify them about your study. If they’re interested, they can reach out to you to express interest or ask questions. You’ll receive a list of interested volunteers and contact details.
Connect with interested volunteers
If a volunteer is interested, you can get in touch to coordinate next steps, including screening and enrollment, prior to starting the study.
Beyond recruitment: Sharing study results
Research doesn’t end after recruitment. We provide a dedicated space for you to share research results back with communities, whether you recruited through REACH BC or elsewhere. We also provide an integrated result-sharing feature to maximize your impact, through our collaboration with Genome BC. This lets you cross-post your discoveries to Health Metadata Commons — ensuring your findings reach a wider audience and fulfilling your knowledge dissemination and research transparency goals.
